FAQ
Short answers. Checking rules are on the methodology page. Prices and the request form are on custom plans.
Why use this instead of my car's navigation?
Your car's navigation is the right tool while you drive, and the better ones show live stall availability. A plan covers what in-car routing doesn't: it's built around your car, adapter, and memberships. Every stop is checked against the network itself. Each has a backup, and we note what's nearby for food, restrooms, and overnight stays. It's all laid out before you leave, so you aren't deciding at 10% battery.
What is free, and what is a paid plan?
Free guides cover the corridors we publish. Each charging fact is checked on the network's own site and shows that date. A paid plan is built for your car, adapter, memberships, and dates. Every plan has a primary stop and a backup. The detailed plan adds food, restrooms, and hotels with chargers. The multi-day plan covers several days and overnight charging. Prices are $19, $39, and $79. We recommend hotels. We don't book them.
Who reviews a plan before I get it?
We build it from the car, adapter, memberships, and dates you send, then check the stops on the network's locator. A person reviews every plan before it is sent. Nothing goes out on its own.
When will the plan arrive?
Route and detailed plans within 48 hours. Multi-day and family plans within 3 business days. The clock starts when we have both the payment and the trip form.
Where do the charging numbers come from?
Stall count, kW, who can use the site, and price come from the network's own locator, with the date we checked. If the network doesn't publish a price, we leave it unpublished. The Department of Energy database is how we find DC charging sites in a town. When the network and that database disagree, we show both. PlugShare, X, and Reddit are driver reports. They are labeled as reports and are not confirmed facts. If we haven't confirmed a fact, the page says so. We give kW and stall counts. We don't call a site fast or slow.
What if a fact in my plan was wrong?
If we miss the delivery time, you get a full refund. If a station fact in your plan was wrong on the date we checked it, you get a full refund. Networks change sites after we check. A plan that was correct on its check date isn't refundable because a site changed later. Reply to the email your plan came in, within 14 days of your trip.
Do you book hotels, and does any network pay you?
No. We don't book hotels, rental cars, or tickets. No charging network pays for placement or coverage, and none of them reviews a guide before it goes up.
