About

EV Trip Reports is a set of stop-by-stop road trip guides for EV drivers, plus custom plans built around a specific car.

Who's behind it

I'm Zak Winnick. I work in EV charging infrastructure, and before that I spent 15 years in hospitality, mostly making sure guests didn't hit surprises. This site is the trip-planning version of that job.

I started it because the information drivers need is scattered. Routing apps handle the math, but whether a site is open to your car, how many stalls it really has, and whether people waited there last weekend live on a dozen network locators and forum threads. These guides put that in one place, with a source on every fact.

Independence

No charging network pays for placement or coverage here, and none of them reviews a guide before it goes up. If a stop on a guide is a site I have a business connection to, that stop will say so.

If we add affiliate links for hotels or gear, they will be marked where they appear. They will never decide which charger a guide recommends.

How the work gets done

AI tools do much of the research and upkeep: pulling station data, re-checking network locators, and collecting driver reports. The rules they follow are on the methodology page. Facts get a source and a check date, or they get marked as not yet verified.

Corrections

If you were at a stop recently and something doesn't match, we want to know. Use the request form and put the stop and what you saw in the notes. A dedicated corrections address is coming.
